Writing Models: Adam Matcho

What to Learn from Adam Matcho’s “Minor Surgeons”

1.       Start in the middle of things.

2.       Who, what, when, where, why, how

3.       Weave linear narrative and backstory

4.       Use dialogue/description

5.       Write in scene

6.       Define yourself in the moment

7.       Character development through action, dialogue, description

8.       When you can leap time and connect moments through theme or subject, do so, but only one time

9.       Have an emotional center – what the piece is about other than what happened

10.   End in the middle of things
